Training

Murray Callan Swim School employs anywhere from 10 to 18 instructors. All instructors are intensively and extensively trained in the Murray Callan technique. Unlike the majority of other swim schools, all instructors must teach the same methodology and they are not assigned their own classes until they are extremely qualified to do so. This training process may take several hundred hours and can continue thereafter. All of our personnel are certified swim instructors and are CPR certified. Most of our instructors come from competitive swimming backgrounds and have either taught lessons before or have worked with children in some capacity. In fact, many instructors are simultaneously pursuing degrees and/or credentials in education. Many of our past employees have gone onto become elementary or secondary school teachers.
